The Reds are once more back in the last eight of the Champions League having beaten German heavyweights Bayern Munich in their own back yard.

It was a superb night for Liverpool, totally nullifying the dangerous Bayern attack and ruthlessly taking their chances when they arrived. Driving the Reds forward was the in-form Sadio Mané.

Mané finished the game with 2 attempts, 1 chance created, 2 goals and 5/5 take-ons. Impressive.

Mané is properly a ‘thorn in the side’ of opponents. He’s sometimes unorthodox, sometimes ungainly but increasingly regularly devastating.

And he plays the game with a smile on his face. What a bloke.

If the Reds are to go further in the competition, and maintain the pressure on City in the league, Sadio looks likely to be a central figure.

Check out our video compilation of his performance below:

The Red Debate’s Tom adds: “We had Southampton’s pants down with the price we paid for him.”

I couldn’t agree more.
